Pat and Casie McGinn with their son, Garrett |
The Charlie Harbin Distinguished Service Award was established by the Harbin family and is awarded by the school to recognize those selfless individuals who have significantly served Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School and exemplified its values in their lives.
Montgomery Catholic's president, Mrs. Anne Ceasar, presented Pat and Casie with an engraved clock to begin the 2019 Montgomery Catholic High School Academic Awards Night in appreciation for the gift of their time.
The recipients of the 23rd Harbin Award, Pat and Casie McGinn, have not only been supporters of Montgomery Catholic by educating their three children here but also in their time, volunteerism and the heart and soul they have put into MCPS. Over the last twenty-five years, Pat and Casie have supported the school in almost every possible way.
Pat is an alumnus of Montgomery Catholic (1985). He came back to Montgomery with a love and devotion to our school and also a wife and young daughter approaching school age. His wife Casie jumped in feet first and joined the PTC. She was involved with the PTC for the next fifteen years as their three children filtered through. She not only supported the PTC at the elementary level but at all levels K-12; she held positions from secretary to Vice President then was probably the longest standing President in the history of the St. Bede PTC. She was contagious in encouraging others to get involved and support our school. The McGinn’s were involved in field trips, work days, Pat coached Pee Wee football, Casie was a room mother, organized teacher appreciation luncheons.
As they moved on to the middle and high school years, the McGinns continued their efforts by volunteering for bonfires to heading Academic Awards, Baccalaureate and Graduation receptions, blowing up the huge football helmet before games, cleaning the locker room, organizing and supporting fundraisers and athletic meals and being active Boosters and supporters. They served on countless committees from uniforms to advisory to strategic planning and capital campaigns and every other thing the school asked them to support.
With hearts that say YES! Pat & Casie have truly blessed and enriched our school and the community with the gift of their energy and time.
Congratulations Pat & Casie and Thank you!
