Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School Senior Corey Cotter won the Kudzu Hills Cross Country Invitational and led his team to the championship. Cotter covered the 5K course in 17:33, the fastest time ever run by a Catholic runner, for 5000 meters. Catholic placed four runners in the top 10 as Jarrett Mason (18:37), Nick Smith (18:41), and Skip Martin (18:48) finished 7th, 8th, and 9th. Matt Pouncey finished 16th (19:20) to complete the scoring. The Knights bested 12 other teams.
In the Girls race, Catholic sophomore Katherine Terino finished 3rd (20:42, the second fastest 5000m time by a Catholic girl ever). Other Catholic runners in the top 15 included Sarah Talbot in 7th (22:23) and MacKenzie Colvin in 12th (23:13). Ann Marie Dean, running in only her second race, finished 48th in 26:30.
