Sixteen cheerleaders from Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School performed during the FedEx Orange Bowl Pre-Game Show in Miami, Florida, on January 2, 2007. The girls were selected for this prestigious opportunity for their outstanding performances at the summer National Cheerleading Association (NCA) Camp held at Auburn University.
The entire varsity cheerleading squad was named an “All-American Team” and three middle school cheerleaders were selected as “All-American Cheerleaders” during the week-long camp, which earned each of them an invitation to perform at the Orange Bowl. The girls worked tirelessly for four months raising funds to make their trip possible.
In December, NCA sent the girls official uniforms and a performance DVD in order to learn the specially choreographed routine. Cheerleaders from all across the country joined Montgomery Catholic for the performance in front of 80,000+ cheering fans at Dolphins Stadium. The girls described their experience as “frightening, but exciting” and one they will never forget.
