Nearly 200 students march in Montgomery Children's Walk

Nearly 200 seventh through twelfth grade students from Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School participated in the Montgomery Children's Walk in downtown Montgomery on Tuesday, December 1st commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott and beginning of the Civil Rights Movement.

Thousands of school-aged children from all over the Metro-Montgomery area participated in this landmark event. The walk began at the Rosa L. Parks Museum on Montgomery Street, which is the site of Mrs. Parks' arrest, and ended at the steps of our State Capitol. The crowd listened to songs sung by local school choirs and heard motivational speeches from Civil Rights leaders including Mrs. Johnnie Carr.
